There is a very famous hokkien phase: buay sai xui jui mai gong xui jui kor tua diao. Which literally means: if you cannot swim, do not blame your swimming trunk for being too big.
There is a couple of cunning futures trainers trying to smear forex trading in Singapore. They do this just becauce they can't get enough students and are unsucessful in trading. Well, the bitter fact is forex move much more in a day than our boring SGX futures. Sucessful traders doing SGX contracts do not necessary day trade as the commissions do kill their accounts fast. Forex can be started using a $100 but if you try to open a futures account, the broker will ask for at least $10 000. Forex in a sense is a better try for newbies, please do not get con by futures trainers. There is a couple of MAS regulated forex market maker/brokers in Singapore go check out the MAS website if you're interested in forex. Believe me, day trading/scalping SGX futures is a sure way to the poor house even if they offer you free commission.
